Assist. Prof. Dr. Winston Chow

Winston Chow is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore since August 2013, and also holds an honorary Assistant Professorship with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy's Institute of Water Policy from April 2016. He received his Ph.D. at Arizona State University’s School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning in 2011, and has a Master's degree and two Bachelor's Degrees from the National University of Singapore. He has published extensively on urban climatology in tropical and subtropical cities, such as on the physical processed, impacts and approaches towards adapting to and mitigating the urban heat island; as well as on urban vulnerability towards climate change, such as on societal exposure and resilience towards extremes in temperature and perception. He was also the news editor for Urban Climate News, the quarterly newsletter of the International Association for Urban Climate (IAUC), from 2008-2015. Winston Chow is a Principal Investigator of the Cooling Singapore project.
